We were asked some great questions by various people about Karma, spiritual truths, and veganism… so we combined some of these questions and answer them in this episode.
Do you believe in Karma? Does eating animals give you bad Karma? How do spiritual truths hold up when
Lots of great questions that could go in so many directions! Funny how these topics end up creating more questions than offering conclusive answers.

Because of you mentioning it, I listened to the audio version of the world peace diet and it just brought me to my knees in pain listening to parts of it. I am familiar with karma but never thought of it from the prospective of the indifference to the suffering seen in places like india due to what they are thinking that “its something they have done or were in a former life” and that the thought process precludes them from being compassionate or accepting any responsibility – moral or practical, to helping these animals. Its just a very depressing revelation as its already hard enough getting people in those countries to care especially and understandably in some cases as they have very little themselves. Now throw into the mix the complete and utter indoctrination of the belief in karma and it looks very bleak for these poor, poor animals. Great podcast though.x
We know what you mean about The World Peace Diet Shelley… we wish more people would read/listen to it. Thanks for listening and for your comment x
Great episode guys, thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with us. I can identify myself with everything you are saying 100%. Since I went vegan my perspective about a lot of people I used to consider nice and kind has changed. It’s amazing how spiritual people and people that participate in charities and stuff like that, when they’re confronted with veganism they just close their eyes, look the other way around and just say that animals are not important and veganism is not relevant. I agree with you from now on I will always be on side of the animals and the planet. I send you all my love and I hope I can meet you in person one day.
Hi Isaura, glad you could relate to what we were saying in this episode … we think this is quite common for vegans to experience. Hope we get the chance to meet you too one day! Thanks for your support, and much love xo
This podcast really resonated with some of the feelings I’ve experienced after adopting a vegan lifestyle. Someone once said to me “meat must’ve made you angry, you are so mellow now”.
Glad it resonated with you, and thank you for listening and commenting 🙂
It definitely changes your whole thought process when you go Vegan. I don’t know if that’s something to do with the hormones in meat and dairy or what. It is like a veil gets lifted though. I have a Sikh friend who often goes on about his religion and ‘karma’. He has belittled me for being vegan at times saying it’s just a fad diet etc. The one day I asked him how he could eat meat if he believed so much in karma. He was stumped and could only stammer something about there being different types of karma!??
Wouldn’t it be great to get all these spiritual leaders together and debate them on their ethics, or lack their of.
Sad hearing about the response of the vegan over the injured dog, people never cease to disappoint.
Thanks for another good podcast ✌️
Now that would be a great debate indeed! Yes, people never cease to disappoint that’s for sure. Institutionalized religion can sometimes be such a prison for the mind… and for the heart for that matter. Thanks for listening and commenting as always Brenda 🙂
Oh, I remember the time I got some bad karma back. So going back to my teens, I think I was around 16, just discovered the internet, and found out about free samples that some companies send people who request them. And oh my god did that sound amazing – FREE STUFF!!! I went on an order spree lol and even though I couldn’t quite understand why, I knew in my heart that I am doing something shady. These companies send free stuff for people to try in case they would want to purchase it, and there I was knowing full well I don’t need any of it, just ordering everything from snack bars to bibles 😀 So fast forward to my first ever job after university, I was a marketing assistant and one of the duties I had was to send free samples of incontinence products to people – from diapers to soaps and moisturizers for very dry damaged skin. How many people would want that? Well…. maybe 2 a month until I got the job. About 2 weeks in, someone posted the link to our website on a “get free stuff” forum and the shit hit the fan. I got around 100 requests A DAY. Obviously I’m just one person and could hardly manage since it was only a very insignificant portion of the job I was supposed to do in the company. But I tried my best and all that time even though irritated as hell, I couldn’t help smiling because I just knew it was that karma from when I was a shitty selfish teenager 😀 I swear it made me happy, because it made me believe that what goes around, comes around. I felt the sense of comfort in that, like even though I see bad people getting away with bad things, there will come a time. I truly believe that 🙂
Absolutely hilarious anecdote!!! Thanks for sharing :))
